Preparation of 1,3-phenylenediamine:
1,3-Phenylenediamine can be obtained by reacting aniline with 2-amino -4-methylpyridine. First, aniline reacts with 2-amino-4-methylpyridine in the presence of hydrochloric acid to yield N-(3-amino-4-methylphenyl)-4-(pyridin-3-yl) pyridin -2-amine. Subsequently, this intermediate is subjected to a reduction reaction to form 1,3-phenylenediamine.
